Roads to Meaning and Resilience with Cancer

by Morhaf Al Achkar, MD, PhD

This book includes four stories of people living with incurable lung cancer. Dr. Achkar takes a new approach in that he interviewed thirty-nine patients with non-related smoking lung cancer. He really achieves his goal in shining light on the stigma of having lung cancer. In a time where people are living longer thanks to new drug therapies, this book gives us hope that we are learning from each individual patient. He spent the time talking to these patients to find out what they were doing to fight their individual cancer battle with absolutely no judgement. People handle things differently and need to be true to themselves. A great read!
